Fujifilm has been a sponsor of World Cup football since the 1982
tournament, held in Spain, making over 20 years of sponsorship. The World Cup is the
biggest sporting event in the world, with over 170 countries vying to be one of the top 32
teams that will go on to participate in the 2002 tournament. More than 2.5 million people
from around the world are expected to attend the event, while small screen viewers will
surpass 35 billion worldwide.
UEFA holds the European championship every four
years.
Having started in 1998, the tournament will be a climatic event
featuring teams from 16 different countries. Held at two-year intervals
to the World Cup, in Europe, the heart of professional football, the
Championship is a remarkably popular event, with the outcome being the
crowning of Europe's leading football team.

With the marketing initiative of Fuji Photo Film
(Europe), Fujifilm
distributors from all the countries involved, beginning with Holland and
Belgium, plan to
promote the event through co-operation of their sales and marketing teams. During the
actual matches, Fujifilm, as an official sponsor, will establish the on-site 'Photo
Processing Service' to aid press photographers in getting to the news quickly and
efficiently.
